Colts Neck, N.J.—April 26, 2021 – Gerry Blass, President and CEO of ComplyAssistant, has volunteered to serve as a brand ambassador on the Cybersecurity Act (CSA) 405(d) Task Group. As a brand ambassador, Blass will work with a number of ambassadors to promote the Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP) publication through various marketing and strategic initiatives.

Blass joined the 405(d) Task Group in 2017, which is made up of over 100 members from diverse healthcare areas and roles, including cybersecurity, privacy, practitioners, health IT organizations, and other subject matter experts.  The Task Group convened six times from May 2017 through March 2018 to produce a draft of the Health industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP): Managing Threats and Protecting Patients publication.

The Task Group holds monthly meetings and as a brand ambassador Blass will play an integral role in raising awareness of HICP for healthcare organization leaders across the country. Last month, Blass appeared on an episode of HIMSS TV Digital Checkup with Bill Siwicki where he discussed the details of the HICP law and best practices for healthcare organizations to comply. Blass hopes this interview will be the first of many opportunities on the horizon to further educate small, medium, and large healthcare organizations about the benefits of HICP, as well as ComplyAssistant’s HICP compliance software.

“The CSA 405(d) Task Group leverages the Healthcare and Public Health (HPH) Sector Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Public-Private Partnership,” said Blass. “The Task Group has made great strides since holding its inaugural session four years ago. The introduction of HICP provides a great opportunity to support healthcare professionals as they work toward the path of compliance. I am honored to be part of the team of brand ambassadors as we continue to engage in this important work.”
